Introduction
.
* THIS IS JUST AN ARTICLE STUB. TO BE COMPLETED AT A LATER DATE.
* This article is: Ultra-Simple educational overview of batteries for popular consumer devices, especially in digital cameras. What they are, made of, how they work, etc. This article is based out of California USA.
* This article is not: Lengthy. Official. Encyclopedia. Basically, this is my personal opinion, and weekend research, so there may be flaws here.
* Related Articles: Electricity 101.

Misc Content
.
* 900mah stands for 900 miliamp hours. For digital cameras, the more the better.
* The 900 mAh battery has slightly more reserve capacity (approximately 5.8 % more) than the 850 mAh battery. This is a fairly negligible difference.
* For consumer electronic applications, the best rechargeable battery types currently available (and affordable) are (from best to worst): Lithium Polymer (LiPo), Lithium Ion (LiOn), Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH), and Nickel Cadmium (NiCAD). Although lead acid batteries are also a type of rechargeable battery - these are rarely used in small consumer electronic devices/applications. Gel cell and Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries are special applications (variations) of lead-acid batteries.
* For non-rechargeable batteries, most any lithium formulation is better than 'heavy duty' zinc formulation batteries.

* There are many metal/air mixtures in the works for becoming better than Lithium Ion. Youtube has many “make a battery at home” videos.
